Why You Should Reconsider The Futon Chair Bed

Sometimes you can look at a piece of furniture and wonder why on earth any one would buy it. The futon chair bed is a bit like this.

If you want a chair which turns into a single bed, why not buy the design with an arm chair which pulls out into a proper single bed? Well, these are quite expensive and they are very space hungry. If you are looking to add it to a kid’s room or a guest room then you may find that the room suddenly starts to look over crowded and very small.

So what about the foam chair bed? These are cheaper than the futon chair bed
and serve exactly the same purpose. Yes, they are cheaper, but if you have ever tried to sleep on one you will have discovered that the foam may be comfortable for the first half an hour but it soon compacts and feels like you are sleeping on the floor. They are great for kids who simply don’t weigh as much, but for an adult they are just not so great.

The futon chair bed is a great solution. Since it does not have arms, it some how doesn’t seem to take up much space. Since it has a frame it doesn’t feel like you are sleeping on the floor. As an adult you can actually sleep on one night after night and be perfectly comfortable.

There are other advantages to the futon chair bed. Firstly, the mattresses have removable covers. This is great if you are using it in a kid’s room as it makes it a much more practical choice. The covers can also be purchased separately so you can always get something to fit with the room even if you change the decoration.

I always put a double bed in my guest room. But if you have guests who have a child a great way to accommodate them all is to have a futon chair bed in there as well. This way the whole family can sleep in one room. So if the child wakes up and is a bit disorientated, mum and dad are just there next to them. It also means that if the child wakes up early their parents are present to occupy them and try to stop them from waking up the whole house.

In summary the futon chair bed is a cheap, practical and comfortable piece of furniture.
